Uses & Techniques
Restless Legs Syndrome
Position your foot massager tilted forward with your calves resting on the treatment surface. This setup stimulates blood flow in your legs, relaxing the calf muscles, and the arch bar helps relax the Achilles tendons.
DURATION This treatment can be used up to 15 minutes at a time, several times a day.
Tired Feet & Ankles
To relieve tired feet and ankles, position your foot massager upright. Place your feet on the treatment surface and adjust the speed to your preferred comfort level. You can use the foot massager with bare feet, socks, or even while wearing shoes.
DURATION This treatment can be used up to 15 minutes at a time, several times a day.
Relaxing Your Toes
Set the foot massager in the upright position, curl your toes over the arch bar, and select a speed that feels comfortable. This technique can aid in reducing arthritis pain and enhance circulation in the rest of your foot.
DURATION This treatment can be done for 2 to 10 minutes at a time, several times a day.
Heel & Bone Spurs
Set the foot massager in the upright position and place your feet on the treatment surface. Start at the lowest setting for the initial 1 to 2 minutes. Then, slowly increase the speed to a level that is comfortable for you.
DURATION This treatment can be done for 5 to 10 minutes at a time, several times a day.
Plantar Fasciitis
This area may be sensitive, so it's advisable to wear socks during this treatment. With the foot massager in the upright position, slowly and rhythmically move your foot over the arch bar until you feel the area begin to relax.
DURATION This treatment can be used up to 15 minutes at a time, several times a day.
Diabetes & Peripheral Neuropathy
Position the foot massager upright and place your feet on the treatment surface. Start with the lowest setting for the first 1 to 2 minutes. Gradually increase the speed to a level that feels comfortable for you.
If you have both the MedMassager foot and body massagers, enhance your treatment by using the body massager on the top of your feet at the same time as the foot massager.
Lower Back Pain
Start on a lower setting and position the MedMassager alongside the muscles next to your spinal column. Slowly move the unit from one area to another or rhythmically up and down the back. For cramping or tender spots, hold the massager in place for several minutes on a soothing setting to help stimulate blood circulation in the muscle tissue.
Additionally, you can sit in a high-backed chair or on a sofa with the body massager placed between your back and the chair at any level, up to as high as your neck.
DURATION This treatment can be used up to 15 minutes at a time, several times a day until spasms are relieved.
Mid & Upper Back Pain
It can be beneficial to have assistance for this treatment, but you can also position the body massager against the back of a chair to effectively target the area. This method is useful for relieving tightness and stress in the lower back and neck muscles.
Set the massager to a comfortable level and gently move it up and down the spine in a circular motion, focusing on any particularly tender areas or trigger points. Massaging around the edges of the shoulder blades can be particularly soothing.
DURATION This treatment can be used up to 10 minutes at a time, several times a day until comfort is achieved.
Shoulder Pain
For pain specific to the shoulder, massage around the muscle cap of the shoulder (deltoids), along the back of the shoulder (rotator cuff), and on the front of the shoulder extending partially into the large chest muscle (pectoral). This targeted approach can help alleviate discomfort in these areas.
DURATION This treatment can be done for 5 to 15 minutes at a time, several times a day until comfort is achieved.
Neck Pain
Start with the MedMassager on a gentle, low setting and massage directly below the occiput. Continue by massaging the trigger points of the neck muscles and along the occipital ridge.
DURATION This treatment can be done for 10 to 15 minutes at a time, several times a day until comfort is achieved.
* Tie up long hair to be sure that it is not caught in the motor of the massager
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome & Tendinitis
Start using the MedMassager on a low setting for the initial 1 to 2 minutes. Gradually increase the speed to the setting that feels most comfortable or provides the best relief. Place the massager on the painful area. For ease of use, you might find it helpful to turn the massager upside down and rest the affected area directly on the soft massage pad.
DURATION This treatment can be done for 5 to 10 minutes at a time, several times a day until comfort is achieved.
Thigh & Hamstring Pain
Use the MedMassager™ to relieve muscle pain in the front thigh muscles (quadriceps) and the back thigh muscles (hamstrings) by rhythmically moving the massager from the top of the leg down to the knee and back up.
For additional pain relief, pause the massager in the middle of the muscle and keep it directly over the affected area for a few minutes. This focused application can help alleviate deeper muscle discomfort.
DURATION This treatment can be done for 5 to 15 minutes at a time, several times a day until comfort is achieved.
Knee Pain
Start using the MedMassager on a low setting for the first 1 to 2 minutes. Gradually increase the speed to a level that feels most comfortable or provides the most relief. If possible, apply the massager in a rhythmic motion, which can be circular or a simple back-and-forth movement, using mild to moderate pressure.
DURATION This treatment can be done for 5 to 15 minutes at a time per knee, several times a day until comfort is achieved.
Calf & Lower Leg Pain
Start with the MedMassager on a low setting for the initial 1 to 2 minutes. Then, gradually increase the speed to the setting that feels most comfortable or effective for you. While seated or lying down, turn the massager upside down and rest the affected area on the soft massage pad.
DURATION This treatment can be done for 2 to 10 minutes at a time, several times a day until comfort is achieved.
*Pain can be caused by many different conditions, some very serious. Please get a diagnosis from your healthcare professional to make sure you don’t have a serious condition that needs to be addressed immediately or something for which exercise or massage may be detrimental.
